A customer or entity may pay us to gather information from references. The customer gives us the names and contact details of the references and tells us what they expect each reference will say. We may then contact those references, and responses we obtain may be compiled and made available to the customer who placed the order upon that customer's request.

From customers: name, contact details, payment-related information (processed by our payment processor), order details, the reference names and contact details you provide, your expectations about each reference, and any communications with us.
From references: name and contact details (provided to us by the customer), responses and other statements a reference chooses to provide, and any communications with us.
Automatically: usage information such as device, browser, IP address, pages viewed, and similar data collected through cookies and related technologies when you use our websites.
How We May Use Information
We may use information for purposes including to operate, provide, maintain, personalize, and improve our service; to process orders and payments; to conduct reference outreach and compile results; to communicate with customers and references; to detect, prevent, or address fraud, security, or technical issues; to comply with law and legal process; to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims; to enforce our Terms of Service; and otherwise to plan for and enhance our business.
How References Are Contacted
If you are a customer, outreach to the references you identify may be conducted by our verification operation, which may communicate under a separate operating name and from a domain other than checkmyboss.com. We take commercially reasonable steps to conduct outreach discreetly, but we do not guarantee any particular outcome of outreach, including that a reference will respond or will not infer the origin of the request.
If you are a reference, we contacted you because a customer identified you and provided your contact information. Participation is voluntary; information you choose to provide may be shared with the customer who engaged us.
How We May Share Information
We may share information with: service providers and vendors performing services on our behalf (such as payment processing, communications, and analytics); brands and operations owned by or under common ownership with us, which may use information consistent with this Policy; parties to an actual or contemplated corporate transaction such as a financing, reorganization, merger, or sale of assets; and third parties where we believe disclosure is appropriate to comply with law, regulation, or legal process, to enforce our Terms of Service, to defend against claims, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our business, our users, or others.
